Our world is rapidly getting more digitalized with numerous screens at work, school and home. Parents are watching kids scroll through life, with their rapid-fire thumbs and six-second attention span. According to Dr. Delaney Ruston, the average child spends 6.5 hours a day looking at screens. Parents need and want to learn how to negotiate screen time and find balance for a healthy life. The film Screenagers probes these vulnerable issues and depicts messy struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction. It has insights and offers solutions on how we can empower kids to best navigate the digital world.
Recommended ages 10 & up. Contact Beth Hays at the Ruth Culver Community Library, 608-643-8318, with questions.
