Due to high rates of active COVID-19 infections in Sauk County and surrounding areas, Ruth Culver Community Library is changing to a limited-service model, which will be by appointment only. This change is an effort to provide a safer environment for library staff and the public by reducing contact and ensuring that we are able to properly disinfect spaces. All individuals entering the library must wear a mask that covers the nose, mouth and chin at all times while in the library. Beginning Thursday, November 19, the library building will be closed to the public, except for the services listed below:
This service will remain available to those that wish to utilize it. We will gather your items, bag and label them, and then place them on a table in the lobby for pick-up. This will be self-service, please call the library when you arrive and we will make sure your bagged items are on the table for you.
Patrons are welcome to browse the collection by appointment. These appointments need to be made in advance and will be for 45-minutes. Appointments will made on the hour. If browsing with family members, please limit the number of people from your household to 3. If you want to browse with more than 3 people, you will need to make additional appointments.
Two computers are available in the library for 45-minute appointments during our open hours. These appointments will be made for you on the hour. You may also schedule an appointment to enter the library for printing and copying. If you wish to bring in your own laptop, our express station will continue to be available as well with a 45-minute appointment. Call 608-643-8318 for an appointment.
Online Resources, Book Return and Online Programming are available 24/7. Scheduling of appointments and reference service by phone are available during our regular library hours.
Returns may be made in the 24-hour book drop located on the exterior of the building facing the parking lot. The lobby book drop is open for those coming to the library for an appointment or curbside pick-up. All items checked out at Ruth Culver Community Library are fine-free. Please note there may be a slight delay in the items coming off of your account while they are in quarantine—please allow for 4 days.
If you are here to pick-up curbside materials, make and take bags, or to pick up a tag from the Caring Tree, please visit our lobby during normal business hours.
The library will be staffed our regular hours, unless otherwise posted.
