Additional information on online account access.
Renewals
Not quite finished? If you want to keep an item longer, you can request a renewal. Renew online, in person, or by contacting the library at 643-8318. Items that others are waiting for cannot be renewed and should be returned to the library on or before the due date to avoid late fees. Items are eligible for renewal up to two times.
Reminders
Do you wish you could receive a reminder BEFORE your
library materials are due? Now it is possible to sign up to receive e-mail notices two days before your items are due! If you are interested, ask us or complete the online form - we're happy to help you sign up for pre-overdue reminders! To participate, we will also need to have your e-mail address on file and your account must be set up to receive e-mail notices about holds and overdue items.
Returning Materials
A book drop, available 24 hours a day, is located by the front door of the library. During open hours, you can return materials by dropping them off at the desk (just inside the front doors).
Materials borrowed at any South Central Library System member library can be returned at the Prairie du Sac Library. Items checked out at the Prairie du Sac Library can be returned at any other library in the South Central Library System as well.
Late Materials
To ensure that materials are available to all who need them, fines are charged for each day that an item is returned late. Fines for DVDs are $0.10 per day ($1.00 maximum per item)*. All other items are only 5 cents per day ($1.00 maximum per item). Please remember, to avoid fines, renewals must be made before the date the item is due.
*Effective on all items checked out after December 7, 2007.
Lost Materials & Refund Policy
Items that are overdue for more than 30 days from their due date are automatically converted to a status of lost. Individuals who have a "lost" item on their card may not checkout additional items until the item is resolved. Individuals will need to return the item or pay the replacement charges before additional items may be borrowed.
To avoid having an item with a "lost" status, please use LINKCat or contact the library at 643-8318 to request a renewal if you need an item beyond its original due date. Please see renewals for additional information.
Individuals who pay for a lost book and then find it, may be eligible for a refund. The time limit for a refund from all LINK libraries is 6 months after the item has changed to a Lost status. Some libraries permit the replacement of a lost item in lieu of payment; please contact the Prairie du Sac Library for details before purchasing a replacement as certain restrictions apply.

Exam Proctoring
The Prairie du Sac Library offers exam proctoring for both paper and online examinations. This service is subject to the availability of authorized staff.
Exams should be scheduled a week in advance to help ensure a time that meets the schedule of both the student and proctor; the library cannot proctor tests when less than 48 hours of notice is provided. Individuals needing a proctor should contact 643-8318 or in person to inquire about the availability and schedule of a proctor. Exams will only be proctored during regular library hours.
Completed exams can be submitted to the institution via email or mail in accordance with the institutional guidelines; it is the responsibility of the student to reimburse the library for postage if the exam must be mailed.
The student will be visible to the proctor, but we cannot provide constant observation during the exam.
